Donegan Civil Engineering have been awarded this £3m contract by United Utilities, to provide approx. 4,000m3 of storm water storage to reduce the number of Unsatisfactory Intermittent Discharges into Sow Brook. Work will commence in January 2014 with a 40 week programme to completion.
The scope of works includes:
- Construction of a 20m diameter pumping station some 23m deep
- Construction of a screen chamber, discharge chamber and penstock chamber
- Approx. 85m of 900mm diameter pipework
- Approx. 165m of rising main
- 3 stage dewatering system complete with remote monitoring
- Installation of storm return and scavenger pumps
- Installation of a vac-flush column tank floor cleaning system
- Installation of static screen, penstock and flap valve
