Mossway, Middleton
The purpose of the project was to remove five properties from the DG5 Flooding Register by providing protection from internal and external flooding of the properties by increasing the storage capacity of the local sewers.
Scope of Works at Mossway, Middleton
- The scope of work included upsizing of the existing combined sewer, construction of a weir chamber, construction of an offline storage tank box culvert adjacent to the existing combined sewer downstream of the weir chamber.
- Downstream of the box culvert storage tank a backflow prevention manhole was constructed to house a Tideflex check valve and on completion of the works full width road re-construction was undertaken to reinstate the working area approx 1500m2.
